With this feature, developers can directly connect to their AWS cloud infrastructure and import it into their IriusRisk projects - automatically, quickly, and securely. No more manual uploads. With just a few clicks, connect your AWS cloud environment to IriusRisk and pull in your infrastructure components—saving you time and reducing the risk of configuration errors.
Please note that this new AWS integration will be in a beta phase.
During this period, the feature will support a limited number of components and may not be available in all regions.
The components we are covering in this first release are:
Over the coming weeks and months, we will gradually roll out support to additional regions and include more AWS components to enhance your experience.
Users now have a safer way to import infrastructure from AWS Cloud into IriusRisk. Instead of using permanent access keys, IAM Role-based authentication is now possible. This method allows users to grant temporary access that automatically expires after a short time. It reduces the risk of unauthorised access, unlike permanent keys that stay active until manually disabled. This change makes it easier to protect sensitive systems and gives users greater confidence in the process.
To utilize IAM Roles, start at the list of Projects in your instance, select Import Project, and choose ‘From the Cloud’ option.
The menu will appear on the right hand side - select ‘IAM’ role.
The first time you do this you will need to click on ‘How to register an IAM role’ which gives a list of instructions on how to do this between IriusRisk and your AWS account. As per the below details. Once done, click on the blue button to say you have registered the role.
Enter the AWS account ID and Role name, when you click the import button, the diagram will pull through.
