The announcement was made during the CyberCamp conference held in the Barclay Card centre in Madrid from the 27th – 30th November, with over 10 000 attendees.
We competed with startups from all over Spain and with 4 others in the finals. The talent and potential for Spanish security startups is truly astounding as demonstrated by finalists from Countercraft, ElectronicID, Agora Voting and Hackdoor. We’re all looking forward to an exciting road ahead!
INCIBE’s Cyber Security Accelerator
One of INCIBE’s objectives is to develop Cyber Security as a means of societal transformation and an opportunity for innovation at both national and international levels. As part of this, they launched a startup accelerator programme in September to help young companies take an idea or product and build it into an effective business.
The startup programme was hosted principally in Madrid and León with a number of remote mentoring calls by industry and business experts. The programme is publicly funded and no equity is required to take part. First, second and third place winners received cash prizes of 7000, 5000 and 3000 Euros respectively.
While there are many startup accelerators around the world, only a handful are focussed solely on Cyber Security. In addition to the INCIBE accelerator, others include:
Bringing you the latest on all things threat modeling and architectural security.
